Doing Good, Does You Good!!

Volunteering your time, money, or energy to help others doesn’t just make the world better—it also makes you better. Studies indicate that the very act of giving back to the community boosts your happiness, health, and sense of well-being.

It gives you a sense of purpose; it gives you a sense of belonging (to a group of people that are just awesome); It helps keeps things in perspective (so many charities, for so many good causes out there); It boosts your self esteem and the more you do it, the more confident you will become; it helps to strengthen friendships (I believe my walking partner will agree :-)) and of course its good for your health!

So, last Saturday, I took part in the @ultrachallenges walking 25km on the Thames Bridges Walk.

I did it for @norfolkgreyhoundrescue as I am a Greyhound Lover and they do amazing work by rescuing and rehoming greyhounds (that have been spat out by their industry, once they are no more useful for them ).

So what did it do for me - well once I got over the sore feet and aching hips (!) - it was good for my health and happiness, because I know, myself and others donated to a very good cause, and many of these beautiful, elegant, calm creatures will get a new life of love and being looked after.

If you would like to feel all the above, give it try. The UK is great for charitable causes!
